To start off, yes, the garage serves a purpose, a very coveted purpose. However, think of all that square footage. Most people you know probably think their garage is a misused mess – they want to clean it up, get it organized and do something more with it. Here are five ways to take your boring garage and turn it into a clean, productive addition to your home.
Art Studio
If you paint or sculpt it can get a little messy, and sometimes you need more space than what your home allows. The garage isn’t really a place where you’ll have a lot of guests, you can lay down large amounts of tarp or newspaper, and you get great lighting when you keep the garage door open.
Hangout
This is a great place to set up a bar or movie area, especially if you don’t have a basement.
Man Cave
Let’s face it, women tend to have most of the say when it comes to home decor and what room will be for what. So to all the men out there, if you don’t have a basement or a bonus room make the garage area your own.
Gardner’s Corner
This is another hobby that can be messy and require more space. There are tools and dirt involved, enough said.

Kid’s Place
Again, you don’t have a basement, maybe you don’t have a lot of yard space either. Setting up a play area where your kids can get exercise and wear themselves out instead of you is a great use of space.
