Spring Break is approaching, quickly. The last thing that any parent wants to hear is “I’m bored,” and you don’t want to break the bank either. What’s a parent to do?

Plan a fun stay-cation! There is so much fun to be had right in your own backyard!

Centennial Park in Nashville tops lots of lists for things to do while you are in the city. There are huge green spaces for the kids to run, beautiful gardens to explore and of course ducks to feed!

Head over to the Adventure Science Center, and let your kids take in the awesome exhibits like Space Chase, BodyQuest and so much more! Anytime learning is fun is a bonus in our book!

Since you are in the Music City, you have to make sure that you check out the Country Music Hall of Fame. There is something for grown ups and kids alike!

Explore Nashville from the treetops! This is an activity that is going to be best for older children but the Treetop Adventure Park looks like a tremendous amount of fun!

Head to Louisville, KY:

Living in Louisville, I am spoiled with all of the amazing things that there are to do in the city. There truly is so much to do.

The Big Four Bridge comes to mind, an old train bridge turned into a pedestrian bridge, gives visitors a unique view of both the Ohio River and downtown Louisville.

The parks in Louisville are outstanding, our family loves to head to The Parklands and when it is warm we love to play in the Sprayground!

My family could spend all day in the locally owned lego store, Bricks & Minifigs. They have tables and tables of bulk legos that your kids can dig through.

Head a little outside of the city to Bernheim Arboretum Research Forest, you can explore the miles and miles of trails and playgrounds.

Things to do in Cincinnati:

Technically this isn’t in Cincinnati, but right across the river is the Newport Aquarium.

Enjoy America’s favorite pastime with your kids at a Cincinnati Reds game.

Hang out at the Coco Key Water Resort, water slides and swimming pools = big family fun

Take a walk around the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park, imaginations will run wild here!

Things to do in Indianapolis:

No trip to Indy is complete without a trip to the Children’s Museum. You could spend an entire day with your family here, it is amazing.

Get up close and personal at the Dallara Indycar Factory. This is a great attraction for the thrill lover in your family.

The Indianapolis Indians are a minor league baseball team but believe me it is worth the trip! The stadium is amazing and they even have a family zone here.

Most cities have a zoo, but the Indianapolis Zoo is a special experience. Especially the Orangutan exhibit. You have to see it to believe it!
