There is something so very magical about hopping into the car and checking out Christmas lights with your family. The best part about this particular activity is that you don’t necessarily have to pay anything (besides the gas for your car) to enjoy the beautiful sites. Of course, there are some displays that do require an admission fee but by and large this is an event that can be very cost effective!
Southern Lights (Kentucky Horse Park) – Lexington, KY: This display requires a $15 admission
Melon Court – Okolona, KY: Cruise around this neighborhood, located in the suburbs of Louisville. You won’t be disappointed, the residents go all out!
Light up the Levee – Newport, KY: If you are near the Newport Levee don’t miss this free light show. Every 20 minutes starting at 6:10 pm and until 11:50 you can see this fantastic light show in an awesome venue.
This is across the river from Newport, in Cincinnati, OH. The Cincinnati Zoo hosts the festival of lights nightly until January 2nd from 5pm – 9pm. Adults are $25 and children
In Burlington, KY The Kramer family puts on an elaborate light display and they even have their own Facebook page! You can check out details here.
Also near the Cincinnati area in a neighborhood is a family that puts on a light display set to music! They also have their own Facebook page.
We would love to hear about your favorite spot to check out Christmas lights, either paid or unpaid.
