Employee Spotlight: Larry Wade, Division Manager at Taylor Homes

At Taylor Homes, our team is the foundation of every home we build. We believe that the character and dedication of our people are just as important as the quality of our materials. That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to Larry Wade, one of our exceptional Division Managers. Larry’s diverse background, unwavering work ethic, and passion for helping families build their dream homes make him a vital part of our team.

From building homes with his father to leading a fire department and managing a resort, his experiences have shaped him into the leader he is today.

A Lifetime of Building

Larry’s journey in construction began at an early age, working alongside his father. After high school, he continued honing his skills by building homes, which laid the foundation for a successful career. But building isn’t just a job for Larry; it’s a lifelong passion. Alongside his construction career, he served as a call firefighter, dedicating 28 years to the same department, ultimately retiring as Chief in 2007.

Larry’s diverse experiences don’t end there. He pursued further education at Florida Keys College, earning a 100-ton boat captain’s license. He spent years running dive boats and fishing charters while also excelling as the General Manager of a resort in the Florida Keys.

Building Dreams for Our Customers

For Larry, the most rewarding part of his role at Taylor Homes is completing homes that leave customers happy and fulfilled. “Knowing that our hard work turns a client’s vision into reality is incredibly satisfying,” he shares. His daily routine consists of overseeing job sites, supporting our superintendents, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Larry’s hands-on approach ensures that each home meets our high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Life Beyond Work

When he’s not busy managing projects, Larry enjoys life on his small farm with his wife. Together, they care for horses, a donkey, chickens, dogs, and cats. Their shared love for the outdoors often leads them to explore the beauty of nature through camping trips whenever possible.

Larry has a passion for exploring different parts of the country, not necessarily seeking out cities but rather embracing the vastness of rural landscapes. Additionally, he’s a culinary enthusiast; while he enjoys Mexican food, he takes pride in smoking meat and crafting his own rubs and sauces.

Thank you, Larry!

Larry’s approach to life is straightforward and genuine. When asked about his personal qualities, he humbly suggests that he leaves it to others to decide. “Not much to say,” he adds, “but I am the same person every day.”

This consistency is one of his greatest strengths. It’s what our team and our customers can count on. In a complex process like building a home, having a leader who is steady, reliable, and dedicated makes all the difference. Larry Wade embodies the values of hard work, integrity, and service that define Taylor Homes.

As we celebrate Larry in this employee spotlight, we recognize the invaluable role he plays in bringing both homes and happiness to our customers. Thank you, Larry, for your hard work and dedication, and for being an essential part of the Taylor Homes family!
