What are the initial steps to start building my home?

The first step involves purchasing land if you don’t already own a lot. Taylor Homes builds on land that you own. If you haven’t found a lot yet, our team can assist you in locating one that meets your needs. Or, many times our customers decide on the home they want—then locate the desired property to accommodate the design; again—Taylor Homes can assist as needed. Lot preparation is also crucial and may include installing septic systems, water access, and an electric supply. We offer an outside work package to simplify this process, ensuring everything is ready for your build.

What happens during the preconstruction phase?

Before we break ground, you will have a meeting with your Sales Consultant, Superintendent, and Regional Manager. In this meeting, you’ll review essential documents, finalize key decisions, and prepare for the construction process. You’ll get to verify the placement of your home and review blueprints along with other important documentation. Once everything is set, we’ll get your building project underway.
