There is a lot to celebrate during the month of September. Next month is the 38th Annual Festival of the Horse, celebrated in Downtown Georgetown, Kentucky. This family-friendly event will take place over the weekend of September 7-9th, 2018, and includes a number of activities that the whole family will enjoy.
The Festival of the Horse celebrated the role of the horse in the heart of the Bluegrass. This tradition has been taking place in downtown Georgetown since the 1980’s and has become a very popular 3-day event that locals and visitors have enjoyed for years. This event will feature arts and craft exhibits, live entertainment, local food and beer, a cornhole tournament, parades, and, of course, horse games and a horse show. Children attending the event with their families will be able to enjoy carnival rides, pony rides, inflatables, and bounce houses. The festival will kick off with a Chili Cook-Off on Friday at 6 pm, and conclude on Sunday with a Horse Show followed by live music at 2:30 and 4 pm, with many events and activities in between that you won’t want to miss.
