Thanksgiving Traditions

Thanksgiving is the unofficial start to the Holiday Season. During this time of the year, many families and friends gather together for meals and to partake in holiday traditions. While Thanksgiving is often thought of as a holiday that involves eating a meal with your family, it can also be a great time to start some new traditions with your family. Read on to learn about some Thanksgiving traditions to start this year with your loved ones.

CREATE A ‘BOOK OF THANKS’

Creating a ‘Book of Thanks’ is a great way for everyone in your family to write down what they are thankful for. Mark each page in the book with the date and year that the comments were written down, and add a photo to see how your family grows each year. It is a great tradition to start with your family because you can look back on past years and reminisce, and see how your family is growing and changing.

 

READ A BOOK BEFORE DINNER

Another great tradition to add to your Thanksgiving plans this year is to take the time and read a book before you enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. Chose a book that highlights reasons to be thankful, and follow up the reading of the book by going around the room and sharing what you are thankful for.

 

 

 

WATCH A CHRISTMAS MOVIE

After dinner has been served, enjoy your dessert while watching a Christmas movie with your family. This is a great way to kick off the Christmas season and enjoy quality time together. Each year pick a different movie, or watch the same family-favorite each year.

 

 

 

 

 

GIVE BACK
