Vacation Spots in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio

July 30, 2015

As summer winds down exploring your own state or neighboring states is a great option for weekend trips or one last trip before the school year starts up again.

We have some great ideas for places to visit and can’t wait to hear about your trips that you plan!

Coney-IslandOhio

For some good old fashioned fun head to Coney Island Amusement Park! They have a water park area, classic rides (like bumper cars and the scrambler). For $25.95 a combo ticket for both rides and the water park can be purchased. If you want to just do the water park or just the rides that is also available as a ticket option. Keep an eye on their calendar they do different types of events from time to time!

Breaks Overlook

Kentucky

Recently I found out about Breaks Interstate Park, often referred to the Grand Canyon of the South due to the sheer volume of visitors annually and the canyon that the river has carved out. There are over 25 miles of hiking trails explore, mountain bike paths to ride, white water rafting and geocaching just to name a few things to do with your family. There is a lodge on site and also the option to camp. It is located in far Eastern Kentucky and straddles the Kentucky/ Virginia border.

Holiday WorldIndiana

If you are in Indiana, then a visit to Holiday World is a must! This theme park is a great place to visit for families of all ages because there is enough to keep the big kids and the little kids happy! Plus, the park offers free sunscreen and free soft drinks, this needs to be a thing everywhere! Tickets are 44.95 for a one day park admission.

What is your favorite place to visit when you are sticking close to home?
