EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Meet Mike Nichols

Mike has been with Taylor Homes for over 25 years – WOW! After graduating from The University of Louisville in 1985, Mike started working in the paint industry. After about 15 years in labs, where he developed coatings for paints, he decided to make a career move. He interviewed a few construction companies, but he remarks, “None stood out to me like Taylor Homes did.”

Mike recalls his admiration for founder, B.F. Taylor and how his dedication to quality and customer service were always at the forefront of his efforts. “When he hired me, he told me that if I do my job, I’ll get a fair wage – he always held to his word. That is still true, even today! Chris Taylor has carried on the legacy of B.F. by offering the same affordable, quality homes. He’s helped earn Taylor Homes the BBB’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics”!

Over his time at Taylor Homes, Mike has worn many hats to serve his customers. He started off as a Warranty Manager, but due to the lack of warranty claims on Taylor homes, Mike moved into the construction end of the business as a Superintendent. He is now a Corporate Warranty Manager, company-wide, and recalls building around 400 houses during his career at Taylor Homes.

“I like to solve puzzles and my favorite part about my job is finding solutions for customers,” Mike says. “being stagnant isn’t an option at Taylor Homes – we’re always out there looking for something better than the status quo.”

In his free time, Mike likes to play golf with his significant other, Mary, and travel in his new RV. While he lives in Louisville, you can find him helping out the Superintendents in Nashville area. Dedicated and enthused employees, like Mike, are what make Taylor Homes an amazing place to work and build homes.
